 Imprescindible Movilidad Geográfica (Nacional: Peninsular e Insular).

PhD Position in ChemistryApplications are invited for one PhD position in Chemistry to work in the research group of Professor Paolo Melchiorre at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Tarragona (Spain) - www.iciq.eswithin the project: New Strategies for the Asymmetric Functionalization of Carbonyl Compounds at the gamma Position The PhD program will focus on the exploitation of the unconventional reactivity profiles imparted by chiral primary amines in order to discover novel catalytic and enantioselective chemical transformations.The candidates should have a background in organic synthesis and chromatography (GC, HPLC, TLC and Flash chromatography). Knowledge related to asymmetric (organo)catalysis will also be appreciated. Good command of written and spoken English is required. The selected candidate is expected to conduct research, write reports, and deliver a PhD thesis.Only highly motivated students are encouraged to apply for the position. The studentship provides a stipend comparable to an F.P.U.
